After a relaxing three-day weekend, we resumed our project by visiting Ault Park.
We packed a picnic lunch to eat and found a nice shady bench. Since it was such a nice day we enjoyed being outside for a while. It was nice change of pace from the museums we saw last week. Afterwards, we walked to the top of the pavillion and then around the gardens.
Price: Free!
Our Opinion: It’s a very pretty park and the gardens are well-landscaped. The park has lots of benches and tables so there are plenty of places to sit. There is also a stunning overlook of Lunken airport and the Little Miami River.
Rating: 5/5
After Ault Park, we headed to Alms Park.
Alms Park also boasts many beautiful views of Lunken airport in addition to the Ohio River. We sat on a bench overlooking the valley and also walked around its pavillion. But most fun was testing the laws of physics on the playground. On these spinning platforms we showed that in this instance, the law of conservation of rotational momentumĀ holds. But really, it was an excuse to play on the playground.
Price: Free!
Our Opinion: The views were again, very nice, although very similar to Ault Park’s. In the future, we probably wouldn’t to choose to visit both parks in the same day. However, we’ll take any opportunity to play on a playground!
Rating: 5/5
Both parks were lovely, but if we had to choose, we both preferred Ault Park because it was larger and its gardens were gorgeous.
Great series! I look forward to future adventures. (I didn’t know about Alms Park…)
